mixed media tutorial

Hi guys!
I am here today to share a step by step mixed media card tutorial made as part of my DT assignment at Rainbow Craftykari Blog.

Mixed media art is total fun as there is no criteria fixed and innovation is endless to work with.

The challenge this month at Rainbow Craftykari is a Earthy mood board,I was totally flaunted by the colours. Though it is a tutorial post, i did not want to miss to try my hand with the colour .
Image may contain: indoor

Here is my card.
Here is the tutorial to create this mixed media card.

Step One is to create a base layer for your card, Take the cardstock(for my 4.5"X6" - card base, my cardfront is of 4"X5.5"). Coat a layer of gesso and allow it to dry. Then scrap the edges of the card with knife.

Step Two- is to add depth and variety to your card with paint layers. I have used Camlin fabrica acrlic paints and spray inks for this.

Step three is to add text to your cards now. I have used HLS - thinking of you - script stamp and randomly stamped on the coloured panel.

Step four is to add textures to your cards. i have used Heidi swapp spray stencil and Sakura modeling paste to textures

Step five is to embellish these cards as you desire .I have added stitched oval diecut from Gina k Designs to card panel with foam tape to add dimensions.

Embellishments whicg i have used are Handmade rose from HNDMD flower die, flourish from cherrylynn dies, leaves from altnew wild hibiscus, jute twine, pearl strings, white ribbon & feathers.

Step six is Splatter with black water colour with paint brush

You are done!

Hi friends!

I feel very special being on the design team of Crafty scrappers - a Indian craft manufacturing company.

Today I have some inspiration made from the adorable products released in June which i got them in my DT kit(Hope you seen my DT kit reveal video shared y'day).

Here is the first card that I created for this release using a new stamp set called: u - lift me up

Ok, I just have to tell you that I love love love this new u - lift up set!! The little critters that fit in the balloon basket are too cute. For this card,I stamped the images on  the cardstock and coloured it with Staedtler water colour pencils and Koi waterbrush. Fussy cut them.  I created the background with salty ocean & moved lawn Distress Inks. The fussy cut images were adhered to the front panel with foam tape for a little bit of dimension. For my greeting, I stamped it onto some white cardstock and distressed edges and then popped it up with some foam tape. I finished off my card with a few silver sequins.

Here are some closeups

Here is my second card using the stamp - Fuzzy wishes

I have created a single layer card. I stamped directly on the card panel with tea dye distress ink. The images where coloured with watercolours. For my greeting, I stamped it on the center portion of the card panel. I finished off my card with a few silver sequins.
